FAQ
Will classic soccer conflict with other sports? The most frequent conflicts we encounter are with hockey and baseball. Missing trainings and games will result in less playing time, and may influence the club’s decision to place a frequently absent player on a future Classic team. Are games scheduled on Sundays? Yes, but whenever possible we try to schedule the games late in the day. We have no control over tournament schedules. Can Spring-only players play on a Classic team? Maybe. If there are unexpected openings on a Classic team a Spring-only player may be invited to fill the spot. Spring-only players who want to be considered for a classic team need to be at the tryouts and be registered as a Spring-only player with SAYSA. Can my daughter play on a mixed team instead of an all-girls team? Yes. Any girl that tries out for a mixed team will be considered for a spot on a mixed team. If my U11-age child tries out for a U12 team and does not get an invitation, can s/he still play Classic? Yes. Because we are a small club and our evaluators look at all the players, if a young player is not invited to play up the evaluators may advise that the player be offered a spot in that child’s correct age group. The opposite is also possible. A young player with the ability to do so may be offered a position on an older team. In either case the final decision to play or not rests with you. If my child played on a Classic team last year, will they automatically be placed onto a classic team this year? There are no guarantees in a tryout scenario. SAYSA will endeavor to place all players to want to play classic onto a classic team. If there are not enough players to fill an additional squad at an age group some of the players trying out will not receive an invitation.
