First Kicks

Coach Barry again. This Spring Challenger will be running, and I will be coaching, a new program called ‘First Kicks‘ purposely designed for children aged 3-6. Those that have already seen or had their kids participate in our past successful Challenger summer camps in Stoughton will already know, that First Kicks is a great way for kids to get involved in soccer in a FUN environment. The sessions addresses the physical, emotional and social needs for a child aged between 3-6. I will be entertaining your kids with fun games in a fun, safe environment while teaching them the basic fundamentals of the game of soccer.

The course consists of 6 sessions and will take place on Thursday mornings starting on  April 5th through May 10th. The 6 sessions will cost $60, working out $10 a session.

  •  Ages 3-4 – 9:00am to 9:45am
  • Ages 5-6 – 10:00am to 10:45am

This is a great, positive way for young kids to get involved in the beautiful game.

If you wish to sign up to the program the link below will take you straight to the Challenger sign up page.

Spring Training Opportunity

Hello to all soccer players and parents,

For those that are unaware, my name is Coach Barry. I am the Challenger Soccer Academy Trainer at Stoughton Area Youth Soccer Association (SAYSA) and have been coaching teams and players in Stoughton since November 2010. For Challenger Sports I have been coaching soccer in summer camps across the Midwest since the summer of 2009 and I will be heading back for hopefully another successful year.

All of the best soccer teams throughout Europe have a sound youth developmental academy where players are put into an environment where they can improve and perfect their soccer skills to achieve their full potential, and I will be running an Academy in Stoughton this Spring.

I will be aiming to improve a players confidence and efficiency in attacking a defender with individual skill and flair like the Brazilians, and to pass the ball and play as a team like the Spanish Champions Barcelona. Each week will have different, progressing, topics looking to add more skill and knowledge of the beautiful game for 8 weeks, consisting of:

  • Passing, Receiving & Awareness
  • Individual Skills, Feints & Ball Mastery
  • Dribbling, Turning & Running with the Ball
  • Shooting, Heading & Volleying
  • Individual & Group Defending
  • 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 Attacking
  • Technical, Tactical & Physical Training

I will be providing professional coaching each week, aiming to get the best out of each player. I have worked with some players in past Challenger Academy sessions who have progressed into the SAYSA Classic Program, where they have been able to apply what they’ve learnt and develop further to achieve their goal as an elite soccer player. With the SAYSA 2012 Classic Tryouts coming this Spring there is no better way to receive some extra professional coaching to help prepare.

The Challenger Soccer Academy will be running on Friday evenings starting from 4 / 6 / 2012 – 5 / 25 / 2012 at Virgin Lake Park for $80 ($10 a session).

There will be two different age groups the 6-9 year olds from 4:30pm – 6:00pm and then 10-14 year olds from 6:00pm – 7:30pm.

The link below will take you straight to the registration page where you may sign up.

Look forward to seeing you all signed up ready to go in April.
